Home Buyer Survey
What to Expect During the Survey
Here’s what to expect from a home buyer’s survey with us:
The survey starts with an initial onsite inspection to check the type of sewage system in place, its location, and the soil conditions around it.
Following this, a thorough examination of the tank, drainage field, and any related pipework is conducted to assess their condition and efficiency.
The surveyor will also check if the system meets all legal requirements, including local and national building regulations.
After the survey, you will receive a comprehensive report detailing the system’s current condition, any required repairs or upgrades, and estimated costs for these tasks.
There are also Special Considerations:
Some properties may have more than one type of sewage solution. In such cases, each system needs to be individually surveyed.
Older country homes might have outdated systems that could be non-compliant with current regulations. Be prepared for possible upgrades.
Certain issues like groundwater contamination are seasonal. You might need to conduct surveys at different times of the year for a comprehensive understanding.
